My Parkinson’s Journeys

Some Parkinson’s experiences make more sense when they are seen across time instead of as a single moment.

Journeys bring related Experiences together so you can see how one part of my Parkinson’s story developed, changed, and affected my life over months or years.

An Experience tells you what happened. A Journey helps show how it changed over time.

What You’ll Find Here

A Journey is not another version of the same story. Instead, it organizes Experiences that already exist throughout PD Through My Eyes and places them into a meaningful sequence.

A Journey might follow the progression of a symptom, a major treatment decision, a device such as DBS, changes in medication, or another significant part of living with Parkinson’s.

Journeys I’ll Be Sharing

My Medication Journey

How medication moved from something I simply took on a schedule to something that affected how I planned meals, activities, and everyday life.

My DBS Journey

The path to deep brain stimulation, what changed afterward, and what it has been like to live with DBS as part of my day-to-day Parkinson’s management.

How My Symptoms Have Changed

Some symptoms have appeared, disappeared, changed form, or affected me differently as Parkinson’s progressed and treatments changed. Future Journeys can bring those Experiences together when seeing the timeline adds something important.

Built From Real Experiences

The stories in a Journey remain the same firsthand Experiences found elsewhere on this site. I do not need to rewrite the same event every time it connects to another part of Parkinson’s. Journeys simply provide another way to understand those Experiences in context.

As I add more Experiences, new Journeys will take shape naturally. I would rather build a Journey when there is something meaningful behind it than create an empty timeline simply to fill a page.

Experience, Not Expertise

These Journeys describe what happened in my life. They are not predictions of how Parkinson’s will progress for someone else or recommendations about what treatment another person should choose.
